Local author James Harris visited Northfield on Tuesday 8^th April and spent the full day working with KS3 pupils.

Pupils enthusiastically took part in the interactive talk on writing and creativity and had plenty of questions afterwards. Pupils stayed in the hall afterwards to get copies of James' books signed. He spent break time in the library chatting to pupils about creativity and literature whilst signing even more of his books!

In the afternoon, pupils enjoyed workships in the library - the collaborative sessions explored the link between drawing and creative writing.

James Harris from Middlesbrough, has been writing and making funny sketches, films, animations pretty much ever since he could hold a crayon.

He worked as writer for TV and tried his hand at stand-up comedy before writing his first children’s book. In 2019 he won the Children’s' Novel Prize at the Northern Writers' Awards with his book The Unbelievable Biscuit Factory. https://www.theunbelievablejamesharris.com/
