The Schools Sport Partnership strives to improve the quality of Teaching and Learning within Physical Education. 

Bookings

Where there is an online booking link to Eventbrite, delegates will need to create an account on the online event booking system. For SSP led courses, we take most of our bookings via Eventbrite but we do not take payment via this system. Each time you book online you will be issued with a ‘Free Ticket’, please note that the free ticket is for booking your place only any charges will be made via invoice to the school.

Information about course costs will be on the booking system in the course information, please check the cost and get agreement from your Headteacher before booking.

Please note:

  • Not all of these courses are Stockton SSP Courses. In addition to our own CPD that we deliver or arrange, we also try to signpost you to other opportunities from reputable providers.
  • Courses may be cancelled due to low numbers or circumstances outside of our control. We will always try to give schools as much notice as possible to avoid inconvenience.
  • If you have booked via Eventbrite, you should always expect a confirmation/reminder email approx. 1 week before the course is due to take place. If you do not receive a reminder email with one week to go, please check with the SSP as your booking may not have been processed. Please read the Eventbrite email carefully as any changes to times or venues will be confirmed here.

NQT/ECT PE Training

Date & Time: Thursday 30th September, Thursday 10th February 2022, Tuesday 7th June 2022 9.30am-3.00pm.  Delegates attend all 3 dates.

AfPE Level 5 Certificate in Primary School Physical Education Specialism (Primary Teachers & HLTAs)

This is a nationally recognised qualification that aims to upskill primary school teachers and higher-level teaching assistants to improve the overall delivery of the physical education curriculum within primary schools. On successful completion of this qualification, delegates will be able to assist in raising the standards within primary physical education teaching.

 6 x Contact days & independent learning hours required.

Date & Time: Starts Wednesday 6th October 9am-3pm.  Plus 5 more dates to be set on the first day.

Preparing Your Students for Sportshall Athletics (KS2 Teachers/TAs)

This workshop has been designed to help teachers ensure that students have a positive, enjoyable experience at our Sportshall Athletics Competitions.

We will share ideas for practical activities to work on with your students, explain how to best use the equipment, tops tips for performance and a full explanation of rules and team requirements.

Funky Feet (Early Years Practitioners)

Funky Feet is a physical activity programme for early years which develops a child's fundamental movement skills.  The Funky Feet concept is all about having fun.  Allowing children to learn, discover and develop in a fun environment.  Funky Feet provides preschool,nursery and reception children the opportunity to be active and interactive, developing their co-ordination, control and movement.

Lunchtime Supervisor Training

A practical session to support lunchtime supervisors keen to promote an active playground in school. The session will explore why it is important for children to be active and explore a variety of activities that can be introduced in schools.

Teaching Primary PE (KS1 & KS2 teachers of HLTAs delivering PE in Primary Schools)

The workshop will support teachers with their delivery of High-Quality Physical Education through sequences of learning in Target Games (FS/KS1), Games (KS2) and Gymnastics.

Ready, Set, Ride! (EYFS or KS1 Teacher/TAs)

This course will give staff the tools to deliver learn to ride activities within their school. This includes activities to prepare the children to ride.
