During British Science Week (from 16th March), our Key Stage 3 students embraced this year’s theme of Curiosity through a range of exciting hands-on experiences. ⚗ 🧪 All pupils explored materials by investigating what makes the perfect hankie, sparking some fantastic scientific debate about which properties matter most then put their own investigative skills to the test by designing and testing paper aeroplanes ✈️ to see which flew best.🦎 Year 8 pupils met some amazing animals during a Zoolab visit, learning all about their unique adaptations. 👩‍🔬 Some of our students also had the incredible opportunity to speak with real scientists through the I’m a Scientist, Get Me Out of Here online event, asking thoughtful questions and representing the school brilliantly. 📚🌟 Library Round Up – March 2026! 🌟📚 In the library, we have been celebrating reading all month — first with World Book Day, and then with a fantastic day spent with author Lisette Auton ✨📖 The focus of our displays has been around childhood books, with staff and pupils sharing their favourite reads and memories, inspiring lots of book talk 💬📚 Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2026 displays were created to highlight books by neurodiverse authors and stories with characters everyone can relate to 🌈📖 Lisette Auton shared her wonderful books with pupils, “where every child gets to be the hero.” 💙 We have all her books on display and available for pupils to borrow from the library. Other displays have included International Women’s Day 🌸 and British Science Week 🔬 with the theme “Curiosity: what’s your question?” ❓ The library is the perfect place to be curious and find out more about the subjects that interest you.
