Northfield School was bouncing yesterday as pupils enjoyed an exciting yet poignant workshop with The Message Trust, a charity working to improve the lives of young people in the UK.

The workshop focussed on a topic never far from the headlines - knife crime. Through a mixture of musical performances and powerful, real stories, the group's mission is to equip young people with the skills and knowledge to say no to knives.

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the brilliant performances from the group - there may even have been a staff member or two bopping around the hall. Pupils were engaged from the offset and, as well as being entertained, left with a real understanding of how to make better choices.

Mr Clayton, Curriculum Leader of Life Skills, said. "We were delighted to welcome The Message Trust into school yesterday. They have found the perfect way of delivering a sensitive and important message while entertaining – our pupils were all so engaged."

The day was a great success - our thanks go to OTC for brilliant performances, and The Message Trust for such an important event.
