Fourteen of our Year 11 pupils were lucky enough to attend Teesside University's Christmas Maths lectures yesterday, learning how Maths is used across various industries.

They heard lectures from an Astronomer, a Cosmologist , a PHD physics student and they also learned how the North East of England has a thriving space sector. The highlight of the lectures was Mathematician Colin Wright, who talked about how he uses Maths to save lives on a daily basis (and make lots of money). He then went on to demonstrate his amazing juggling skills and how he uses mathematical formulas to come up with new routines.
