Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

At Northfield School, we take a considered approach to relationships and sex education (RSE). In our delivery of RSE, we aim to provide a framework in which sensitive discussions can take place, prepare our pupils for puberty and give them an understanding of sexual development. Our curriculum promotes the importance of health and hygiene and helps pupils develop feelings of self-respect, confidence and empathy.

In addition, RSE at Northfield is designed to create a positive culture around the issues of sexuality and relationships including educating students on the topic of ‘peer on peer’ sexual harassment and abuse, promoting a ‘zero tolerance’ culture and providing advice on how to report instances.
