Congratulations to our incredibly talented Year 10 pupil, Luke, who was recently selected to represent Durham Cricket's U15 team.

Cricket Journey
Luke trains with Durham County three times a week and plays for Norton Cricket Club and Cleveland County School's Cricket Association. He's a fantastic all-rounder but favours the batting position.

Luke represents Durham Cricket's U15 team. Durham Cricket commented: "Luke has impressed to date and thoroughly deserves his place in the squad. His selection is a testament to the hard work and dedication he has put in so far. He has undoubted talent, and we're looking forward to seeing him develop and progress over the coming years."

Not only that, but Luke has also joined Norton Cricket's first team, playing alongside adults, making him their youngest player! After a successful season saw them promoted to Division One, they now have their sights on the Premier League.

Medals and Awards
The talented cricketer has won a host of awards at the 2022 Cleveland County's awards evening, including Batter of the Season, Most Runs Scored in the 'Back into Cricket' festival, despite attending just 3 out of 5 days, and the highly coveted Player's Player award. Luke also won the Chris Allinson Memorial Award for Best All-Rounder across all Cleveland County's age groups.

Future Aspirations
It seems cricket is at the heart of the Symington family as Luke's dad and grandad share his love of the sport, and his uncle played first-class cricket for Durham County and England U21. Luke hopes to follow in his footsteps and now has his sights set on an academy contract to take him to the next level of his cricket career.
